Keith Borgeson's healthcare experience includes over fifteen years in hospital operations and planning. As a Senior Consultant for the Walsh Consulting Group, he provides project management, planning and research services.
Mr. Borgeson's experience includes the following:
- Equipment budgeting, specification development, and procurement services for a new 306,000 square foot hospital. This included planning for the departments of surgery, central sterile processing, emergency, radiation oncology, and physical therapy.
- Equipment budgeting and specification development for an 850,000 sq. ft. academic medical center expansion project. The program included a multiple level interventional suite of (28) operating rooms and (14) interventional radiology rooms with several designed for hybrid procedures. His activities also included planning for central sterilization, emergency services, diagnostic imaging, and recovery services.
- Equipment budgeting, planning and specification development for the expansion of peri-operative services at several hospitals and medical centers. Assisted facilities in planning integrated video systems for operating rooms with boom suspended equipment.
- Planning and specification development for a project consolidating (2) medical centers and the development of a new 120 bed hospital. Emergency, Intensive Care and Surgical Services were integrated and expanded.
- Assisted community hospitals in planning replacement facilities with limited equipment budgets.
- Managed capital and operational budgets with expenditures in excess of $28 million.
Prior to joining the Walsh Consulting Group, Mr. Borgeson was a Material Manager at Advocate Healthcare's Lutheran General Hospital. At the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he conducted utilization audits in critical care areas and supported clinical services.
