Activation Planning
Activation planning is a systematic process to ensure that completion of all tasks required to occupy a new building are accomplished in a logical, cost effective, and timely sequence. Walsh focuses on the medical equipment planning component serving as a key team member in the activation planning process. Activities include the scheduling of equipment delivery and installation, communicating with the architect, contractor, and vendors to resolve problems, network coordination with IT, acceptance testing with biomedical engineering, and helping coordinate staff training of equipment. Walsh participates in regularly scheduled meetings with the entire activation team to ensure that medical equipment is ready for use and that staff are properly trained for the first patient day.
