The University of Virginia (UVA) is planning to relocate its Outpatient Orthopedic services to a new comprehensive Musculoskeletal Center situated on approximately 14 acres at the Ivy Mountain Site. The building will consist of four levels and include Clinical Services (Prosthetics & Orthotics, Sports Medicine, Hand Therapy) comprised of 79 Shared Exam Rooms, 6 Shared Procedure Rooms; Physical Therapy Suite with Gym and Hydrotherapy Room; Imaging Suite with 8 Digital Radiography Rooms, 2 Fluoroscopy/C-Arm Rooms, 1 Ultrasound Room, and 2 MRI Rooms; Surgical Suite with 6 Operating Rooms, Shared Prep/Recovery and Extended Recovery Space with 10 Private Rooms; Research with 2 Clinical Trial Exam rooms; Support Services including Pharmacy, Materials Management, and Central Sterile.
The scope of service provided by Walsh included assisting Clinical Engineering in Specifying New Equipment, Reuse Planning of Existing Equipment, Developing Medical Equipment BIM drawings, and Ongoing Support and Coordination with the Design Team.
